An online market – a bit like ebay or Amazon – but for research technology and services, would make it cheaper, easier and quicker to connect suppliers with potential buyers; build and demonstrate demand for emerging technologies and services; and help items of limited availability find their best uses and development options.
Science market is a proposal for a cooperative online market where technology managers, scientists and other research based suppliers shall take a share in the ownership and control of the site. Achieving the correct balance between research and Industry interests is an essential part of making ideas accessible to Industry while ensuring ongoing basic research.
