Membership Types are intended to streamline non-commercial and commercial activities (particularly Item Exchange) and administration processes through online software.

Research Scientist membership is restricted to individuals associated with legitimate research (not profit) orientated organizations, mostly from academia. With this type of membership you may use almost all features of the site, including the free and at cost exchange of research tools and services (see Types of Exchange). This type of membership is tightly controled by Your Mates, and we ask that all users report any suspected falsification of registration details.

Membership as an Industry Representative is open to all other members of the R&D industry. These members may make available commercial tools, services or other items of interest to researchers; or may request items listed for Technology Transfer.

Technology Manager membership allows specialists within an organisation to ensure that researchers and research organisations maximise their benefits from the exchange of commercially valuable IP listed on the Sci-Mate. Due to the special permissions and responsibilites such members receive within the software environment, this type of membership requires the approval from an organisation's upper management as part of account activation.

Organisations will be able to define data-flows, obtain reports and appoint Technology Managers to control specific activities on the site once we perceive sufficient interest to activate these functions of the software.

Additional features and functions are open to discussion in Feedback Articles.
