The Sci-Mate recognises the vital role that organizations play supporting scientists and research in general. The site, therefore offers features that help research organizations in particular understand, support, control and create benefits from motivated researchers engage in the development of their shared IP. Essentially the site provides reports, data-flows, permissions and communication tools to allow organizations to oversee site activity. To control specific actions initiated by researchers, organizations can appoint Technology Managers to manage mostly commercial exchanges on the site.
Although features to protect an organizations commercial IP are in place, many of the reporting and communication features associated with organizational support are still in development. If your organization sees the value in such features, please consider discussing the matter with us and making a small donation to ensure these features are developed as a high priority.
