The site's existing features are designed not only to provide information about technology, but to bring together the right individuals into productive collaborations and partnerships. To help manage these partnerships, the site will develop a tailored form of what is refered to elsewhere as 'Social Network' software. Rather than Social Networks (which can waste a lot of time), the Sci-Mate intends to offer Networking features focused on coordinating group activities on and off the site. Users shall be able to define groups, which form the basis of site-permissions/access, resource sharing, data/document-flows, and communication. There is more to it, which will be revealed as we come closer to release, but for now, we are happy to discuss.
At the moment, Mateships is under development. Our priority is to deliver stable functionality in the site's other features and then integrate this feature when this is achieved. If you would like to comment on how you would like to see Mateships developed, then please tell us here what features are important.
