Information associated with Items listed upon the Sci-Mate does not have to be made completely public. While listing an Item, it is possible to define specific groups of members to whom the content will be displayed. This allows members to both avoid or target the exposure and distribution of IP or technology to groups where they see the greatest potential for cooperation. Core Service facilities, for example, may choose to make Items available without charge to employees of a specific university or institute; or, a virology researcher may wish to establish collaborations in cancer research without the risk of transfering the technology to his/her competitors.

[edit] Inclusion or Exclusion Criteria

Specifying any Inclusion or Exclusion criteria (eg, employees of Organisation X) will automatically limit the exposure of the Item to logged in Members satisfying the criteria. By specifying "Inclusion", only those Members who satisfy the criterion shall be able to see, or ask questions and apply for the item. By specifying "Exclusion", Members who satisfy the criterion will not to be able to see, or ask questions and apply for the item. If no organization is specified, the listing will be displayed publicly.

NOTE: choosing any Inclusion or Exclusion criteria will dramatically limit the exposure of the Item to only logged in members of the Sci-Mate.
