Sci-Mate articles are a way for researchers to quickly and easily publish anything of interest to other researchers while staying in control of their online digital content. Articles can be published as open access, which can prepare for or build upon traditionally published work as a way to increase citation. Alternatively, articles can be developed in closed groups, using the online service as an infinitely better way to collaboratively prepare documents compared to using multiple locally saved versions.
Articles of scientific importance may be classified as either ideas, definitions, general information (or reviews), research reports, or standards / protocols (see Article Types). Each Article can then be classified into between 1 to 10 academic disciplines. Other types of Articles are intended to refer to the site itself.
[edit] A new way to communicate research

Ongoing editing and discussion allows researchers to take an idea rapidly forward, sharing ideas with collaborators and protecting IP from competitors.
Authorship and date stamps establish records to show the source, and ownership rights of all contributions (see IP on sci-mate).
Collaborative writing using these tools not only makes it easier for co-authors to read and update the latest version, but also gives senior authors tools to manage the creative development of ideas.
Tick boxes make it easy to provide context for readers and publishers looking for content.
A document versioning system keeps track of previous manuscript versions, which can be rolled-back, changes compared and reviewed by senior authors making authorship and other publishing decisions.
Open access or private articles give authors control over who has access to material on sci-mate.
Peer-review is intended to help researchers prepare documents for traditional journal publication or publication in other forms of media.
IP Management software - and the terms and conditions of site usage - allow users to claim, support and protect their Intellectual Property rights.
Negative results are valuable. They can help other researchers avoid making the same mistakes, and can help others devise successful solutions to difficult problems.
